About the event
The Vancouver Military Dinner brings the traditions and people of Canada's Armed Forces to Vancouver. Each year, sailors, soldiers, aviators, and local residents come together for an elegant experience, dining on fine food, sharing experiences, and creating bonds that last far beyond the end of the evening.
For 2024, we're exploring the power of sport in helping our veterans recover from illness and injury. We will also be paying tribute to the 100th anniversary of our Royal Canadian Air Force. Guests will meet and enjoy presentations from:
- Commodore PJ Montgomery, Commander of Canada's Naval Reserve, and;
- Nick Holyome, the retired officer and athlete who has represented Canada at two Invictus Games.
Proceeds go to support the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, presented by ATCO and Boeing, an international adaptive sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service members and Veterans. Taking place from February 8th – 16th 2025, the seventh Invictus Games will bring together up to 550 competitors from up to 25 nations to British Columbia, Canada. Through the power of sport, the Games will inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country. The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will be held on the traditional territories of the LilÌ“wat7úl (LÃlÌ“wat), xÊ·məθkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
